Tour's Itinerary: 10 days from Fes to Sahara desert and marrakech
Day 01: Fez Airport
Your visit Morocco trip starts with your arrival at the airport in Fez. Our driver will be waiting to meet you with a smile and a warm heart. He will then take you to your charming riad/hotel in the medina of Fez. You will begin the trip to Morocco from the oldest city in the country – Fez.
Day 02: Discover Fez
After breakfast at the Riad, you spend the day enjoying your visit to Fez, exploring the main historical attractions of Fez. The tour in Fez includes the old medina, the souk, and the madrasas, the oldest university in the world.
During this walking Fez discovery, we meet local artisans, enter the historic medina and walk the maze of souk streets and the narrow alleys. Also, feel the authenticity of the town, and immerse in the traditional rhythms of history. In addition, discover the fountains, Andalusian-style palaces, and mausoleums (Moulay Idriss II, Sidi Ahmed Tijani, etc…).
Throughout guided tour in Fez, we cover many different cultural and historical landmarks. Around 4:00 PM we escort you back to the hotel.
Third Day: day trip from Fez to Chefchaouen (blue City)
Our visit to Morocco connects us to Chefchaouen which is the famous blue city of Morocco, with cobalt-painted streets and walls, set amid the majestic Rif Mountains. It is a town as rich in history as it is beautiful. Chefchaouen was established in 1471 when Moorish and Jewish settlers fled here to escape the Spanish Inquisition.
In the morning, meet you at the desk to start the adventure again. Such scenic drive from Fez is about 3 hours. While on the road from Fes to the blue city of Chefchaouen; you discover this magical amazing mountainous town in the north of Morocco, full of charm and authenticity.
Uta Hammam square is the heart of the medina, and a meeting point for locals with many good cafes. Also, you will visit the city’s great mosque and the kasbah with its very pleasant gardens. Lunch in one of the restaurants by the square. Last and not least, we return our path to Fez.
Day 4: Fez – Ifran – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
The 4th day of the trip in Morocco will take you on a journey of lifetime. Today, we will explore different landscapes travelling through the town of Ifrane, where the houses have sloping roofs designed to cope with snowfall.
Such Morocco journey continues via the UNESCO preserved Cedar Forest of the Middle Atlas Mountains which hosts a colony of endangered Barbary apes. From here, drive south of the Middle Atlas Mountains passing through the town of Timahdite until we reach Midelt. We stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Furthermore, continue travelling over the Tizi N’ Talghamt pass known as the ‘camel’ pass. Carry on our travel package which takes us via remote mud villages scattered along the road. Then, descend through Ziz Valley – known for its palm grove. The fascinating valley of Ziz provides us with a great picturesque view. We will arrive in Erfoud, famous for its date palms and fossils.
To sum up the day, we arrive at the red Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga. Overnight in a typical charming hotel.
Day 5: Sahara Desert tour & desert camp
No tour to Morocco is complete without a trip to the Sahara Desert and a camel ride. For this, the entire day will be spent exploring the Sahara Desert of Morocco. We will have a unique opportunity to visit the Gnaoua village where the locals will entertain you with their traditional music played on authentic instruments. Next, we drive deep in the desert for panoramic views of the contrasting golden sand dunes and the black volcanic rocks.
Later, we will visit a nomad family and share a cup of tea in their hospitality tent. You will further learn about the way they live and experience the harshness of the sahara desert. Before drive to the village of Merzouga for lunch, we make a quick visit to see an abandoned coal mine.
Following lunch, we drive back at the hotel to collect luggage and get ready for our camel ride adventure. The camels (actually, dromedaries) will take us across the Erg Chebbi dunes to enjoy the stillness of the desert and the spectacular scenery.
The sunset on top of the dunes will be one of your best experiences in Morocco. Camels will take you to your overnight lodging in our luxury tented camp. As you arrive at the camp in the middle of dunes, we receive you with a cup of tea. Sleep in the night in the desert.
6th day : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Rose Valley – Skoura
We get up early to enjoy a spectacular sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. As you sit atop the dunes waiting for the sun to rise, you will feel the cool morning breeze. Following breakfast, we get ready to leave the Desert for Skoura. Hence, you will be picked up with a 4×4 jeep to meet your driver and head off to the next destination in Morocco.
The travel package in Morocco will take us through a number of villages and towns along the road. Not far away from Merzouga is Sijilmasa – one of the oldest cities in Morocco. If our trip coincides with the day market of the town (Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday), we will stop for a visit.
Next, we go to Todra Gorges, a paradise site for rock climbers and hikers. Stop at the site to explore its high cliffs and flowing waters. As we continue toward Skoura, we drive through Dades and Rose Valley. Rose Valley is famous for its vast fields of roses which are made into different products such as rose water, rose cream, and rose oil.
We carry on our Morocco trip to the Skoura oasis where will spend the night in one of its fantastic riads.
Day 07: Skoura – Ouarzazate – Kasbah ait Benhadou – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Right after your breakfast at the accommodation, we resume our journey to the red city, Marrakech, passing by Ouarzazate – known as the “Hollywood of Africa”, where many famous movies were filmed. Aferwards, we stop to take pictures of Kasbah Taourirt, then continue to the Kasbah Ait Benhadou. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a chosen backdrop for many Hollywood movies such as Kingdom of Heaven and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
Morocco vacation trip continues to Marrakech via the panoramic landscape of the Atlas Mountains. Along the winding mountain road (with an altitude of 2260 meters, or 7414 feet) we occassionally stop to take photos of the lovely views. Finally we arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and drop you off at the hotel.
Day 08: Marrakech – Essaouira
Essaouira is a coastal town located on the Atlantic shore 170 kilometers (105 miles) from Marrakech, and is an easy and scenic drive from Marrakech. Essaouira was first established by Berbers, then a settlement base for Phoenician traders before it was invaded by Portuguese troops in the 15th century. It is a rich area in terms of culture and civilization and a nice respite from the sweltering hustle and bustle of big cities thanks to its nice weather all year round.
We leave after breakfast for our trip to Essaouira. On the way, we will see many Argan trees, some of which will have goats climbing in them. If you wish, we can stop at a women’s argan co-operative to learn about the process of making argan oil.
In Essaouira, you explore the old fortified fishing port on the Atlantic coast as well as other historical and cultural sites. Essaouira is typical of many small fortified Moroccan townships. In the past, it was considered to be one of the most essential ports in Morocco. Overnight in riad/hotel in Essaouira.
Day 09: Essaouira – Marrakech
Another delicious breakfast then we will collect your luggage and leave Essaouira for the drive back to Marrakech. Before we arrive in Marrakech, we detour deep in the High Atlas Mountains to visit a Berber family. We will visit them in their traditional house and get to see how they live. As is tradition, our hosts will provide us with tea and snacks during our visit.
We then continue on to Marrakech where we will drop you off at your hotel/Riad. Around 6pm we will pick you up for a spectacular dinner and show.
Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca
Depending on your flight time, we will pick you up from the hotel in Marrakech and drive to Casablanca. Once we drop you off at the airport, we sadly come to the end of your trip in Morocco.

Third Day: day trip from Fez to Chefchaouen (blue City)

In the morning, we meet you at the lobby after having the breakfast around 8:00 AM. The scenic drive from Fez is about 3 hours. On this day trip from Fez to the blue city of Chefchaouen; you discover this magical amazing mountainous town in the north of Morocco, full of charm and authenticity.

6th day : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Rose Valley – Skoura

We drive via the city of Ouarzazate, known ad the “Hollywood of the Desert”, where many famous movies have been filmed. We stop to take pictures of Kasbah Taourirt then continue to the Kasbah Ait Benhadou. This latter is a UNESCO heritage and is a chosen backdrop for many Hollywood movies such as Kingdom of Heaven, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves… It is an iconic vestige that will take us back to the ancient eras of the country.
Morocco vacation trip continues to Marrakech via the enormous landscape of Atlas Mountains. Along the drive we pass through the winding road with an altitude of 2260m. We will stop on the road for lovely panoramic views. Late afternoon, we arrive at Marrakech, drop you off at the hotel.
Day 08: Marrakech – Essaouira
Essaouira is a coastal town located on the Atlantic shore. It is 170km far from Marrakech and can be visited within a day trip from Marrakech. The city was firstly established by Berbers, then it was a settlement base for Phoenician traders before it got invaded by Portuguese troops in the 15th century. The city is a rich area in terms of culture and civilization. Also, it is an escape from the bustle and hustle of big cities thanks to its nice weather all year round.
In the morning, we meet you at the reception going for a day trip to Essaouira to explore the sceneries of “Mogador”. Along the road, we will see a lot of Argan trees and goats climbing the trees. In order to have idea about the process of making argan oil, we will stop in women argan cooperative “optional”.
When we arrive at Essaouira, you explore the old fortified fishing port of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast as well as more historical and cultural sites. This Morocco-Portuguese town is the favorite of wind and kite surfers due to the shallow waters.
Essaouira is typical of many small fortified Moroccan townships. In the past it was considered to be one of the most essential ports in Morocco, and still in certain manners.

Day 09: Essaouira – Marrakech
Get up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and have your luggage collected to leave Essaouira and drive to Marrakech. Next, we start our journey to the red city Marrakech. Before we arrive in Marrakech, we shift the way deep into the High Atlas Mountains to visit the Berber family. When we arrive, they receive us at their authentic traditional house, visit the house and see how typically they live. They provide us with all the bio nutrition they have (tea, cheese, bread…).
Later on, we will take our direction to Marrakech. We drop you at the hotel/Riad, and around 6pm we pick you up for a spectacular dinner with show.
Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca
Upon your flight time, we pick you up from the hotel in Marrakech and drive to Casablanca. The drive is about 4 hours. Once we drop you off at the airport, we come to the end of your trip in Morocco and the end of our visit to morocco services.
