Sahara Desert Tour: 4 Day Trip to Merzouga
Day 01: Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Draa Valley – Rissani – Merzouga:
Right after you have breakfast at the hotel, our driver will meet you at the lobby to go for a lovely journey to Sahara Desert. We leave Ouarzazate and drive further south across Atlas Mountains where to enjoy awesome sceneries of rocky cannyons. We arrive to Agdez for a panoramic photo and continue driving along the picturesque valley of Draa. We will stop for lunch in one of the restaurants along the road before we go ahead for the old city of Sijilmasa. Have a walk in the souk before we arrive to Merzouga where to take the camel ride to spend overnight deep in the Desert. The ride lasts for 1h30 across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the sunset, dinner and sleep in a Berber tent under a starry sky.
Day 02: Sightseeing Desert Tour:
Wake up early in the morning to attend and enjoy a spectacular sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. Set up over the dunes, waiting for the sun to rise and meanwhile feel the cold morning breeze are feelings you will not find elsewhere but here in the Desert. After so, back to the camp for breakfast and shower, then get ready for free day around Sahara Desert. You will have a unique opportunity to visit Gnaoua village “Black people” originally from Mali, Niger…. They will entertain you with their authentic instruments. After spending a worthwhile moment with Gnaoua; we drive deep in the Desert for a panoramic view that shows the contrast of golden dunes with black volcanic rocks. Later on, a cup of tea with nomad family is worth to explore the way they survive and feel the harshness of life for being a nomad. We follow our path to a left behind coal mine. Back to the village of Merzouga for lunch. Back to the hotel for free time. Night in the hotel.
Day 03: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley:
We leave Sahara Desert and drive to our next destination Dades Valley. We will pass via a women cooperative weaving all traditional Berber clothes and dresses, then we continue to Todta Gorges where to have a walk and enjoy the view of water and mountains. Later on, we leave to Dades where to spend overnight.
Day 04: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Amridil Kasbah & Skoura Oasis – Ouarzazate:
Before we say goodbye to Dades Valley, we will drive up to have a panoramic view of Dades Gorges and experience an overview of the whole valley, then we go to make a stop in « Monkey toes » which are rocks but looks like the toes of monkeys. Later on, we continue to Rose valley which is a valley of Damaskin rose, May is the month and the season of flowers to bloom up and this certainly will give a good view for the valley. Afterwards we just leave to Skoura where to see and visit an old kasbah « Kasbah Amridil » before we continue to Ouarzazate which is the African Hollywood because many movies have been shot in the region. In Ourzazate we will visit Taourirt Kasbah and cinema museum as well as Atlas Studio. Night in Hotel/Riad. End of our services.
