From Rabat To Volubilis “Roman Ruins” and Meknes
Volubilis is one of the most ancient ruins in all Morocco. So, this trip from Rabat offers us the opportunity to go back in time to wander the fascinating Roman remains there. It is set over a huge area with ancient streets, pillars and mosaics clearly visible; the mind’s eye can reconstruct this ancient metropolis. Overlooking this valley lies the holy city of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun with its beautiful main square.

After your breakfast in Rabat, you will be picked up and start your day trip to Meknes and Volubilis “Roman remains” with a wonderful motorway drive through the magical green surroundings countryside. Within two hours’ drive, we arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Meknes then to the Roman ruins in Volubilis.
Meknes, one of the four imperial cities in Morocco along with Fes, Rabat and Marrakech. In Meknes, we will be able to visit Sidi Said Mosque, The Royal Palace, The Tomb of Moulay Ismail as well as to hang throughout the old medina of Meknes and its souks.
Afterwards, our journey continues to Volubilis, the ancient Roman city is spread over a wide area, offering beautiful views over the valley, the green fields, and the hills. Here, we highly recommend official guide to provide you with local history and knowledge as the site has a fascinating historical background. As we finish with the sightseeing of the site, we drive to visit the holy town of Zerhoun, located on the hillside above the ruins. The mausoleum of Moulay Idriss is not open for non-Muslims but still the main square has a lot to offer.
In the afternoon, we take our way back to Rabat. The driver will escort you to your accommodation. This marks the end of our services.
